In May, the government was asked to consider an extension for compliance to property requirements outlined in the Healthy Homes Standards. Due to lockdown restrictions during COVID-19, landlords and tradespeople have not been able to access properties to ensure compliance is met for any new or adjusted tenancy agreements before the 1 July 2020 deadline.
Extending the 1 July date would provide some breathing room for property owners to make arrangements for compliance statements without fear of breaching the act due to factors outside their control. We will keep a close eye on Government movements in this area and update our Quinovic network as new information becomes available.
