The Auckland residential property market is continuing to strengthen, with Quotable Value showing an average property value of $1,045,362 in March 2017, a jump of 12.3% from last March. Trade Me Property confirms this report with the rate of the increase appearing to increase after dipping into the negative over December and January. House prices are up 1.2% or $12,544 over the last month alone. Over the 12 months until February, TradeMe reports that the average asking price of a typical Auckland property is up by $98,792.
According to Trade Me Property, while almost all properties are experiencing double-digit growth 1-2 bedroom properties are experiencing the highest growth in demand in Auckland, with an increase in asking price of 21.2%, lifting the average price to $622,400. Townhouses are also experiencing a surge in popularity up 12.1% to $842,000. Meanwhile, Units are not far behind, up 9.6% year on year to reach an average asking price of $617,750.
Good news for Auckland property investors and owners! The demand for rental properties in the region continues to be very strong with Trade Me Property reporting a 4% jump in rental prices compared to a year ago.
