Over the past 12 months, Hawke’s Bay’s residential property market has seen steady growth in house prices. Quotable Value shows an increase in value of 16.7% in the central Hawke’s Bay district, from $223,204 in March 2016 to $260,446 in March 2017, while Napier City has experienced a 17.9% increase - from $358,732 to $422,945 over the same period.
Hawke’s Bay property investors are continuing to enjoy increases in weekly rents, with Trade Me Property reporting a rise of 9.2% in the region from February 2016 to February 2017. This compares to a 2.6% increase in rents nationwide (outside of Auckland). Tenancy Services records the median rent as $240/week for the entire Hawke’s Bay district and $330 for Napier (September 2016 to February 2017).
