The Taranaki region’s residential property market has improved over the past 6 months, with Trade Me Property reporting a 7.2% increase in asking average price over the past 12 months. Quotable Value indicates that the New Plymouth district experienced an 8.7% rise in average house value between June 2016 and June 2017 – from $389,369 to $423,157.
The growth in Taranaki appears to be evenly spread with Stratford District up 8.1% year on year while the South Taranaki District was also up by 4.8%.
Rental prices have risen considerably throughout the country over the past year, but Trade Me Property indicates that the median rent has increased by 2.9% year on year in Taranaki.
